The machine is not mine but I was directly involved in the restoration.
Made by Faema, one of the most respected coffee machine manufacturers ever, it is an unusual design which just works. It will probably still be doing so when your grandchildren are old enough to appreciate beautiful coffee.
In the words of the owner.Boema 60’s 2 group lever coffee machine
A vintage Faemina lever Espresso Machine in very good to excellent condition and up until recently was in every day use after a comprehensive rebuild.
This is not a light weight machine, weighing about 10kg and measuring 43cm high to the top of the lid and 47cm to the top of the lever. The footprint, however, is nice and small at 30 x 18 cm which should make it very easy to fit in any kitchen.
The rebuild included a full strip down, new switches, partial rewiring, new elements and all new seals and gaskets and was set to correct operational pressure on completion of rebuild.
It is a vintage, fully functioning and beautiful home espresso machine that has a nice semi commercial weighted feel to pulling shots and steams smooth and creamy micro foam for milk drinks.
Although the machine is close to 60 years old there is less than normal wear and blemishes to the chrome, paint and base.
Includes a single and double basket and the original knock box that is a little broken.

Originally my own machine and fully restored and then used by me for 4 years, this Aurora 1 Group lever machine is now for sale by it’s current owner.
Note : The restoration included a complete dismantle, the frame and painted panels were all sandblasted then powder coated. The boiler was dismantled and it and all pipes were descaled in an acid bath.
Wiring was checked and pressurestat replaced. All chrome was professionally redone.
The machine is near Frankston, Vic, so if you’d like to see it contact me and I can link you with Don.

I have decided to sell my wife’s beautiful Brugnetti Aurora Europa to fund other coffee machine projects. She doesn’t know yet !!! .
It is a single group, 1960’s (?) pre HX model and was comprehensively restored by John several years ago and used as our everyday machine ever since. The Aurora is on all day every day and is an extraordinarily docile and user friendly lever. Pull five or more shots in a row and the head needs a bit of a cool down but if left idling all day you can just walk up and pull a delicious shot. Being fitted with Teflon gaskets sometimes a warming flush is needed. Steams perfect microfoam.
The only thing NQR is the gauge which sits at .3 when cold and 1.2 at full pressure. True full pressure is .9. John fitted an anti- vac valve when he restored it.
Only ever run with the correct in line filters, always properly maintained and is fitted with boiler autofill. Currently fully plumbed the machine has also been fitted with a power outlet for pump operation from a barrel (no pump included).
Powder coated gray frame and black end frames with powder coated pastel orange panels, polished stainless front panel and brushed stainless rear panel. The machine comes with the original Aurora portafilter handle and a generic type double.
There are a few of the two groups around but this is the only single group, pre HX Aurora I have ever seen.
This is a simple, idiot proof and utterly gorgeous machine. Local shipping preferred but I will consider international options.
This machine is for sale by a friend of mine. It is in great condition and makes a truly great coffee. Contact me and I’ll forward you his details.
A 2003 model Elektra Microcasa SXC Semiautomatica espresso machine.
This is a well loved, well maintained two owner machine and up until recently had been used every day. It recently underwent a thorough strip-down, descale, clean and had the fill solenoid and seals replaced. Excellent condition, looks fantastic.
There is some marks and blemishes to the chrome, a few scratches and there is some wear to the plating inside the water tank which does not affect taste.
These user friendly machines are rarely offered for sale on the secondary market and make outstanding espresso and microfoam that is as good as any. And they make you smile every time you walk into the kitchen.
It is a heat exchanger machine which means you can froth milk whilst extracting a shot. Very reluctant sale.

New La Scala Coffee Machines and Coffee Grinders
Although I love Vintage Lever Coffee Machines, I am realistic enough to acknowledge that they don’t suit everyone.
So, I am now selling the La Scala range of coffee machines and coffee grinders.
I have owned ( from new ) a La Scala Butterfly Stainless lever for 6 years now.
It has been my main daily machine and has performed faultlessly,
pulling a beautiful rich tasting shot time after time. The reason it has remained my main machine
( keeping in mind how many other machines I have access to ) is that it is so easy to pull those great shots.
This beautiful Olympia Cremina coffee machine has been my personal machine for the last 5 years
After I bought this Cremina, I completely restored it.
It was totally dismantled. The frame was stripped back to bare metal and then double powder coated with a grey ripple finish.
The main body panel was also stripped and double powder coated in the red you can see in the images.
Every seal and gasket has been replaced.
Since restoration it has had very light use as I rotate weekly between the 5 machines I have as my small collection. So you could say it has only had 1/5 th of the normal use.
Why am I selling the Cremina ?
Because yesterday I was offered another Cremina which I bought and will now keep.
After a thorough restoration, this striking classic is now at it’s new home.
